Rob Bralow has been involved with the Society for a long time. From the days when the Philadelphia Folksong Society held concerts and meetings at the International House, through events at the Germantown Academy, and beyond the Church in Mt. Airy. Rob has attended 36 consecutive Festivals, sold light sticks at the age of 13 and have been Chairman of the Merchandise Committee. Rob's parents, Andy and Lis, took him to Society concerts from when he was born and have instilled in him a love of music and community. Both parents served on the PFS Board of Directors in the past, his father chosen as President for a time. This year Robert brought his three year old to his fourth Fest and his one year old to his second.
Rob was born and raised in the Fairmount neighborhood of Philadelphia. After graduating high school, he went to Chicago to study at Northwestern University (and to listen to some incredible local music). From there, Rob moved to New York City to work in public relations and marketing, which led him to a love of wine. He was hired by a small store in Queens, where he took root. Soon after signing an agreement to purchase the store from the previous owner, Rob opened a second business, a wine bar/restaurant, where he currently has live local music, including several artists from the Philly area.
