Raised in the hills of Chester County, BJ spent his early years playing music and singing with his brothers and sister. They would sing anything from Peter, Paul and Mary to Steve Goodman to Simon and Garfunkel. He spent his middle years wandering and lost through the mid and far west but returned at the end of the century.. it was at this time that he changed his life. He began to reflect on and write about lost years, struggles with addiction, his love of birds and an eventual return to the heart of his family. There are songs about his siblings, his mom and dad, and his grandparents who escaped the Armenian genocide by fleeing Smyrna, Turkey in 1922. He also intentionally writes in stream of consciousness, inspired by teachers such as Thich Nhat Hanh and Pema Chodron. He currently lives just outside of Lititz, Pa. BJ developed a love of birds at the age of 8 when bedridden with rheumatic fever. He feeds the birds to this day!
