Brian Huff and Mary DeAngelis initially formed the songwriting duo Night Ride Home inspired by their mutual love of Joni Mitchell, whose songs they still cover. Now they specialize in distinctive folk, pop, bluegrass and jazz-tinged originals featuring tight vocal harmonies and lush, intricate fingerstyle guitar. All of their influences--including Woody Guthrie, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Tom Lehrer, Rosanne Cash/John Leventhal, I’m With Her, Gillian Welch, and the Great American Songbook--impacted the music on Night Ride Home's stunning, soon-to-be released album, "Aurora Borealis."

Night Ride Home--the songwriting duo of Brian Huff and Mary DeAngelis--was inspired by their mutual love for Joni Mitchell. They still cover “Chelsea Morning”, “Free Man in Paris”, “River” and, of course, “Night Ride Home,” but they offer much more. They specialize in distinctive folk, pop, bluegrass and jazz-influenced originals featuring tight vocal harmonies and lush, intricate fingerstyle guitar. NRH’s most recent originals include “Star of Bethlehem” and “The Angels Came to Texas,” written in response to current events. These songs served as the catalyst for their soon to be released album, “Aurora Borealias,” produced and recorded at Black Forest Sound Studio. NRH has been featured at Freight and Salvage in Berkeley California, Steel City Coffeehouse in Phoenixville, Open Mic America, Hudson Valley Folk Guild, Central Wayne Arts Gathering, and the Keswick Annex in Glenside, and has shared the stage with Cindy Kallet, Muriel Anderson, Bunny Barnes, and Ann Ramsey. In addition to songwriting and performing, NRH hosts the Philadelphia Area Songwriters Alliance SongFest, and the long-running Phoenixville Area Acoustic Jam Group.
