Michael Spear: guitar, vocals, songwriter / Ed Kramer: banjo, mandolin, guiar, dobro, bouzouki, and fiddle
Format(s): Duo
Philadelphia Folk Festival, Godfrey Daniels, Bethlehem Musikfest, and open mic veteran Michael Spear (songwriter, singer, and guitarist) is accompanied by Ed Kramer on banjo, mandolin, guitar, dobro, bouzouki, and fiddle. Michael, co-winner of Godfrey Daniels' Best of Open Mic competition (2016), was introduced to folk music in college, learning how to play guitar on a used Yamaha classical guitar, the best sixty dollars he ever spent. Now playing Martin and Guild steel string guitars, Michael’s repertoire is a mix of ballads, blues, and political songs that transcend the limitations of so-called short shelf songs. Over two thousand songs. “Yeah, I wrote that one.”
