David was awarded Grand Prize in The John Lennon Songwriting Contest, an international competition, and his lyrics have won first prize in poetry competition. He has opened for national touring acts including David Bromberg, Janis Joplin, Andy Robinson and Brewer & Shipley. In his early years, David was signed by The Robert Stigwood Organisation, then managers of Eric Clapton, The Bee Gees, The Staples Singers, and John Mayall, and was chosen to play the part of George in a touring company of the Broadway show "Beatlemania". He has released three albums of original songs on which he sings, plays guitar, piano, bass, drums, and keyboards. His latest album “Reckoning” contains thirteen original songs that range from the personal to social and political commentary. A reviewer has called it "An amazing album!", and listeners have described it as "magnificent", "beautiful", "awesome" and "truly outstanding". His second album "Driving by the Light of the Moon", is a collection of original songs about love, loss, and times gone by and includes his song "Paterson" about the place and time of his youth. Of that song, New York-area TV and radio personality “Uncle Floyd” Vivino said, “It’s unbelievable, this masterpiece he made called ‘Paterson'… if you haven’t heard this yet, you’re in for a real treat.” David’s first album, “Scratches and Dust” has a ‘60s and ‘70s flavor that runs the gamut from rock to pop to folk-rock and includes remakes of songs originally performed by his popular band “Backseat Van Gogh”.
