Blending fingerstyle, and bluegrass flatpicking into his folk based songwriting, Benjamin combines his love of Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and James Taylor with the guitar influences of Doc Watson and Jerry Reed. His songs are mostly personal in nature, speaking to the human condition and the journey of life. As the son of two professional musicians, Ben has been around music for his entire life. Starting out with piano and french horn, Ben studied music theory throughout school and earned a degree in sound recording at S.U.N.Y. Fredonia. It was finding the guitar at age twelve that resonated most, and sparked the passion to practice for hours and hours. After performing in groups ranging from orchestras to rock bands, Ben found the simple beauty of the acoustic guitar and his voice, honing his focus on songwriting and performance. Benjamin has been recording and releasing music for over twenty five years, with his latest album of songs, The Pebble in the Drum, released in 2024 to streaming platforms. Ben currently performs in the Philadelphia region as a solo artist, in a duet, Chip and Chandler, and with his band Sweet 66.
