“Can the world stand one more storytelling troubadour? If the artist in question is Cary, the answer is a resounding yes.” -- Billboard Magazine Meghan Cary is an award-winning performing songwriter, and champion for the unifying power of music. With a smoky voice and masterful storytelling, Cary crafts songs that inspire connection and community, earning her Billboard Magazine’s Critic’s Choice Award and comparisons to Melissa Etheridge, Brandi Carlile, and even Bruce Springsteen. Her anthem “Sing Louder” has become a rallying cry for music lovers to raise their voices together in hope and joy. A favorite on festival stages including the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Falcon Ridge, and Black Bear Americana, Cary has shared the stage with folk luminaries Christine Lavin and Sloan Wainwright; supported Joan Osborne, Chris Smither, and Little Feat among others. Her latest album, Sing Louder, debuted in the top 10 on the US/International Folk DJ Chart, with WFUV’s John Platt praising her songs as “inspiring us to reach our higher selves.” As co-producer of Philly Songwriters in the Round, Cary curates intimate, collaborative performances that spotlight the diverse voices of the Philadelphia music scene. As a performance coach, songwriting teacher, and keynote speaker, she empowers artists and audiences alike to embrace their authentic stories with humor, heart, and courage. Cary’s own journey into music was born from grief — after losing her fiancé unexpectedly, she picked up his guitar, and wrote her debut album. “I wrote my grief into song and sang my way out of the abyss. I keep making music to help others connect with their own stories and each other to find their joy.” Cary’s 2025 single “Raise Your Voice” – hailed as “a song of hope and unity” - has been doing just that. An accomplished actor and playwright, she has written, and performs a one-woman show, "On the Way to the Waterfall", and is currently collaborating on a Broadway-bound musical. Balancing her creative life with raising two teenage children, Cary speaks with humor and grace about navigating life’s constant rewrites. Her mantra: “If you don’t know the words… sing louder.” Time Out NY advises: "If you can get to a Meghan Cary show, run, don't walk."
