and will welcome Blair Bodine, Jackson Pines, Great Time Band, and The End of
America; and, for kids of all ages, Kathy O’Connell will host Canadian faves The Oot n’
Oots on Sunday afternoon.
THE PHILADELPHIA FOLK FESTIVAL loves kids and special attention has been given
to programming dynamic kiddie focused artists in Dulcimer Grove – the haven for all wee folkies. Throughout the weekend, North Star Puppets, the Give & Take Jugglers, The Bright
Siders, Dave Fry, Lolly & YoYo, and other kid-centric artists will perform.
We are especially excited to have cowboy poet Andy Hedges join us this year. Andy is
a songster, reciter and storyteller. His varied repertoire includes classic cowboy poetry
recitations, obscure cowboy songs, dust bowl ballads, and blues.
Along with kids and cowboys, there are two wonderful Klezmer acts that will be
performing: Tsibele, brings their own unique take on Klezmer music; while Dan
Blacksberg’s Freilachs Music is a super-group of all- star Klezmer musicians.
The PHILADELPHIA FOLK FESTIVAL has the distinction of being the longest
continuously run outdoor music festival in North America as well as being the first
outdoor music festival in the United States to take the Keychange Pledge, agreeing to
achieve gender balance in their programming by 2020, and achieving it in the very first
