The Philadelphia Folksong Society continues the long tradition of hosting Open Mics at the venue: 6156 Ridge Ave in Roxborough.
PFS Open Mic usually takes place on the first and third Wednesday of the month, except in the case of holidays and special events (such as Board Meetings).
The Open Mic schedule is listed on our Concerts and Events page and on the Society’s Facebook events page!
Each event features a different host and featured performer. The second open mic of the month is hosted by Philadelphia Music Co-op member Rob Lincoln in association with PASA (Philadelphia Area Songwriter’s Alliance).
Sign-ups for Open Mic begin when the door opens at 7:00pm. Music begins at 7:30pm. Featured performers will have the opportunity to play four songs throughout the night and will host from the stage, announcing performers and having the ability to promote their upcoming events. All other performers will be able to perform TWO songs. The night is open to the public for anyone to attend. There is a small cover charge in order to help PFS continue its programming: $3 Members | $5 Not-Yet-Members | $2 BYO (with valid ID).
ALL PFS events are all ages. Children under 12 may attend open mic for free!
There is a keyboard available with advance notice. To be considered for feature performer or to inquire about the use of the house keyboard, please send an email to info@pfs.org
