Susan Werner started wearing a guitar over her shoulder at the age of 5, and she hasn’t really put it down since.
Raised on a farm in rural Iowa, Susan has gone on to become one of the most accomplished performing songwriters working today. She’s written songs in the style of the Great American Songbook, traditional (and, of all things, agnostic) gospel, folk/rock, traditional Cuban son, New Orleans junk piano, as well as a complete musical score (Bull Durham, The Musical, Alliance Theatre, Atlanta, 2014).
Introduced to the US audience via national tours with Joan Armatrading and Richard Thompson, Susan has performed with Keb Mo, Bare Naked Ladies, and Teegan and Sara. Her songs have been recorded by Tom Jones, Michael Feinstein, Betty Buckley and Red Molly, among others.
Susan is currently at work on her 18th studio album, due for release fall 2020.
