Charlie Miller has been running the Campfire at Fest for too many years to count. He learned at the feet of legendary campfire leader Mike Millerand, for years partnered with folk icon Scotty Rovner to lead the Campfire. Charlie was instrumental in amplifying the Campfire and incorporating it into the Front Porch Stage. He served for nine years on the Board of PFS and has chaired the Society’s Fall Fling for over twenty years.
Accompanying Charlie is Bob Beach, a vital part of the local music scene who's been adding harmonica, flute, and vocals to a broad scope of genres for more than 40 years. A volunteer at the Philadelphia Folk Fest since 1998, he also leads the Campfire open mic every year and has taken the stage as a performer a number of times since 2002. As a sideman, he has recorded or performed with both local and national acts such as Ollabelle, Langhorne Slim, the Avett Brothers, Pat Wictor, Beaucoup Blue, Fruit and many more. Bob also is a sound engineer at The World Café Live music venue, and he books artists for the Lansdowne Folk Club, concerts at the Beach House and other events and venues in the Philadelphia area.
