How Do I Write A Tune? With Andrea Beaton!
“How Do I Write A Tune?”
Fiddling Demystified and the Philadelphia Folkschool present Andrea Beaton, master Cape Breton fiddler and prolific composer. In a two hour workshop, Andrea will demonstrate how she writes a fiddle tune, composing one from start to finish. She’ll discuss her writing process and participants are encouraged to ask questions. This is a deeply interesting topic for people who want to access their inner tunesmith, regardless of musical style, offering the opportunity to closely observe the process of a skilled composer. This workshop is open to all musicians and would-be composers, not just fiddlers.
Andrea will also be playing a concert for the PFS Digital Venue with her mother Betty Beaton, March 20th at 3pm EST, tickets available at folkfest.org
