    Bookkeeper (Part Time, Hourly)

    The Philadelphia Folksong Society is excited to be hiring a Bookkeeper and would love to hear from you if you’re interested. This is a Part Time, Non-Exempt Hourly Position with Flexible Hours and Option for Partial Work from Home.

    Key Responsibilities
    The Bookkeeper is responsible for the successful oversight of the Philadelphia Folksong Society’s financial reporting. This includes producing the monthly financial reporting package, which will be reviewed by the Executive Director, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors. The monthly financial package details the current period results and an analysis of budget to actual as well as period over period variances. This position directly reports to the Executive Director and will have the opportunity to present to Philadelphia Folksong Society’s Finance Committee and Board of Directors.

    • Be able to operate within Quickbooks Online, or similar online based accounting systems.
    • Prepare monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.
    • Review the results against budget and prior periods and provide a narrative of the drivers to the Executive Director / Finance Committee.
    • Prepare the monthly financial reporting package reporting package.
    • Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner.
    • Reconcile key GL accounts at month-end
    • Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments.
    • Design Accounts Receivable invoices, analyzing payments received, and record deposits.
    • Attend board committee meetings relating to finances or financials.
    • Oversee bookkeeping and financial reconciliation at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, the third weekend in August annually.
