Hank is currently serving as the Operations Director for the Festival Leadership Team. In this capacity, he oversees Security, Groundz, Graphics, Parking, Trash, Rent-A-Cops, and Medical committees at the Philadelphia Folk Festival. He also acts as liaison to the local fire department, and State Police. Additionally, Hank is the Director of Emergency Management for the festival.
2016 will mark Hank's Thirty-Eighth continuous year with the Folk Festival. Prior to his appointment to the Festival Leadership Team, he volunteered for the security committee as a member of the Security Central Team, a Field Supervisor in charge of Security Central, and served as Chairman of Security for 15 years. Add to these accomplishments working on the Groundz Committee for the past Fifteen years.
When not at Fest, Hank is a retired Police Officer having served for Twenty-Eight years in various capacities as a K-9 Officer, Detective Sergeant, and Swat Team Leader. He is the Assistant Fire Chief for his local fire company, as well as the local Emergency Management Coordinator. Hank is also retired from the NJTF1, USAR Search and Rescue Team, where he served on numerous deployments such as the World Trade Center, and Hurricane Katrina. Additionally, he is a Technical Rescue Instructor, and serves as one of the senior instructors, teaching numerous rescue courses throughout the United States, and Worldwide.
In his downtime he loves riding his Harley, kayaking, fishing, and woodworking.
