Soul, Blues, Jazz, Love and Heartbreak
Bethlehem and Sad Patrick blend her strong, soulful vocals with his sparse, jazz and blues infused playing and nuanced songwriting to create powerful songs of love – good love, bad love, love lost, and love that oughta get lost – and other struggles.
Bethlehem is a singer, songwriter, and percussionist who WHYY/ NewsWorks Philadelphia described as “Germantown’s next rising star”. Her first solo record, the a cappella “Bigger Than Music”, was released to local acclaim in November of 2012.
Sad Patrick is a songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist who was kicked out of the Calliope School of Folk Music when he started using “jazz” chords.
Together Bethlehem and Sad Patrick recorded their first CD, 2005’s “Did You Ever Do?” in his spare bedroom. They are currently working on the songs for their next CD, and plan to record it in the winter of 2016. Until then you can find them playing in the sunshine somewhere in or around Philadelphia every weekend. Check http://besadmusic.com/ for details.
